Proteolytic dynamics development: Full speed ahead!

At Synfeed, together with WUR, we’re measuring how our proteins are digested step by step, from the stomach to the intestine, to see which fraction is truly hydrolyzed. Each experiment gives us clues to design 100% digestible proteins.

What we’re working on now:

  • Gastric phase → measuring solubility, pepsin hyrdolysis rate and maximum degree of hydrolisis
  • Pancreatic phase → refining digestion models using three pancreatic enzyme solutions
  • Absorbable protein fraction → quantifying free amino acids and developing methods to measure di and tripeptides
  • Validation → aligning our in vitro results with in vivo data to ensure biological relevance

Each step brings clearer proteolytic insights. Every data point brings us closer to our innovative proteins!
